Pendant - Sam Remo Conference / "Zionist Shekel". [Holland, 1923]. Design: Christiaan (Chris) Johannes van der Hoef. Obverse: relief depicting a meeting between two figures, one representing a Jew from the Second Temple period, and one a worker holding a hammer, on a background of a wheat field. Beneath appear the Hebrew dates 3830-5680, (the year of the destruction of the Second Temple and 1920 - the year of the San Remo Conference). Reverse: the legend "Shekel 5683" and decorations. Silver Medal JESUS RELIGIOUS PILGRIM MEDAL WITH HEBREW INSCRIPTION, Such medals are known to be made from the 16 th century up to the end of the 19 th century. They were used as amulets, pilgrims medals & other religious purposes. Commemorative medallion minted by the Polish Brethren struck by them in the sixteenth century upon the back of which is written in Hebrew their own words of affirmation: (Mashiah melekh ba besgalom wa’ Adam - Adam 'asui hai) which can be translated to mean "The Messiah of the Kingdom of Peace became a human being." Obv.: Bust of Jesus with legend "L(ord) Jesus" across field Rev: "Messiah-King has come in peace and Man-God, exalted, made living", Nice Patina.
