1959 COVER sent from Cape Town to England, An attractive early cover bearing a 6d pale rose lilac 'Cape of Good Hope' lot. It is clearly cancelled with the triangular lined hand stamp 'C.G.H.' voided. Alongside is a very fine line strike of the PAID Devonport Cape Packet 26.06.59. This cancel was sent to the GPO in 1859 but NO example is known before 1863. This makes it possibly the earliest known cover. On reverse are the crescent type town date stamps 'Cape Town' and 'Graff-Reinett'.
