BRENNER, Victor David (1871-1924) Plaques bronze 26mm x 38mm. Early rare example . Hahlo-41, Fine Craftsmanship medal awarded to the public schools of New York., 1913. Brenner donated his work for this medal when it was instituted in 1909. Originally known as the School Art League Fine Craftsmanship Medal, it became known as the Haney Medal in 1923, in honor of the painter, James Parton Haney (1869-1923), who was the first chairman of the board of managers of the School Art League. It is still awarded today.

The obverse has the bust portrait of Franz Joseph. The front reads 'Weltausstellung 1873 Wien' 'Dem Verdienste', the obverse reads 'Franz Joseph I, Kaiser Von Oesterreich Koenig Von Boehmen Etc, Apost Koenig Von Ungarn'. Thickness 8mm x 71mm.
