1949 Imperf Poto Essay by Arthur Szyk, Signed by Arthur Szyk and David Remez .
This unadopted imperf photo essay, presented by Arthur Szyk to the Ministry of the Post, comprises a vertical sheet of 25 stamps (5x5) in blue-green on glossy paper, measuring 22 by 22cm, affixed to cardboard measuring 24 by 24cm. The design depicts Aaron, Ben Hur, and Moses between them, symbolizing a smart leader's quest for balance between bold, decisive actions and spiritual, communicative approaches. Moses is depicted with his hand spread wide, symbolizing this balance.The handwritten note by Arthur Schick is located at the bottom margins of the design. On the right bottom, it reads "To David Remez with kind regards, Arthur Schick," while on the bottom left, the title of the proposal by the artist reads "New Canaan April 1949," both in capital letters, with the artist's signature. A hand stamp in blue at the right vertical margins states "From the collection of David Remez" with his signature alongside.
