Overview
Members of the public can consign lots for auction by contacting our office. We handle all types of numismatic and philatelic material including coins, medals, stamps, banknotes, documents, books, memorabilia, artifacts and militaria. Auctions consignments can be brought to our office or can be mailed by registered post.
Valuation
We will take the time to closely examine your collectable for rarity and condition, years of experience and credibility will give your collectable the perfect placement and final retail price. After lots have been inspected, a realistic market value can be determined. Clients wishing to proceed to auction may set reserve prices at their discretion. Commission rates and special instructions are also finalized at this stage.
All auction appraisals are confidential and free of charge or further obligation.
Consignment:
All lots included at our auctions are fully described in our catalogue. Vendors are issued with an itemized receipt detailing the goods held by Romano Auctions. All lots are insured and secured.
Auction:
Lots consigned are offered at auction and will not be sold below the start price. Lots with a reserve price that is not reached are 'passed in' and may either be returned or recycled at a later auction.
Payment
Payment for items sold is made 45 business days after the conclusion of an auction
