Israel's First Airmail Stamp Proof and Color Essays"
This lot comprises four designs of the 250mil Israel's first airmail stamp, showcasing different stages of the production process. At the top is a black proof with a surcharge of 25 instead of the final 250. Below it are three examples of color essays of the final design: one in green, one in grey, and one displaying the combined final result of bluish-green. All three essays feature the correct surcharge of 250mil.
Notably, none of the examples includes the 'Doar Israel' inscription that appears in the final stamp at the bottom right corner. Instead, each example shows a printer mark indicating its future location. The examples are printed on thick paper, each measuring 36mm x 23mm, and are affixed on thick printer paper.
