1943. British propaganda forgeries for Italy: 25 C. and 50 C. "Italian German weapons brotherhood issue 1941", in perfect condition unused with original gumming and hinge trace respectively the value to 50 C. unused with original gumming and affixed spots, very scarce stamps and first in the 46. printing of the Michel Germany special catalogue (2016) listed, always photo expertize Brunel VP (2017) respectively (2018) : "the condition is perfect. In June/July 1943, the French Resistance, or FFI printed this forgery depicting General Charles de Gaulle in profile. The stamps are generally of poor quality printing on poor quality paper. They are commonly known as the “Nice Forgery” (in German, Nizza-Fälschung) after the city of Nice, France. Copies are known to have been used on mail transported within France during 1943-44.
