first airmail from Australia to Papua New Guinea made by Ulm and Allan in the Faith in Australia. 10,145 letters were carried from New Zealand to Sydney, of which 4,167 were subsequently carried on the flight to New Guinea on July 24
East Africa 1927. Experimental Service - Capt. TA Gladstone flight . First flight by the Fairy III D Return partial route - the leg from Kishumu, Feb 15 arrived at Khartoum on Feb. red official circular cachet 'Kenya Sudan 1 air mail Feb 15'. 200 letters were flown the entire return route, only 100 on this leg. Envelope signed by pilot Smith.

Australia 1938, the Australian Territory of Papua and New Guinea, was a weekly service in each direction, taking two and a half days between Sydney-Rabaul. W.R. Carpenter Airlines “CARMANIA” VH-UYU left Australia May 30 with first flights to these exotic places, for which 5d in stamps had to be added to each cover – 2d for postage and 3d for airmail fee. And THEN these covers were “Boomeranged” back from both New Guinea and Papua and same rate – 5d in those stamps were added.
