Air mail cover bearing mixed franking of 1d. + 1d.+2d (Mi:ZA 135A-, 23A, 49.; Yt:ZA 29, 17, 40; SG. 36, 31E,44E) all tied by Cape Town 31 July 1934 cds. 'by air mail/per lugpos' label in blue on front. Nice receiving cancel on reverse. Rare first flight cover.This is a leg of the first flight, originated in Paris, intended to established a link between the island and Broken Hill, South Rhodesia, so to link up with Imperial Airways.
