Reverse: SPQR OPTIMO PRINCIPI Abundantia standing facing, head left, holding cornucopia and grain ears; to left, child standing right, holding roll; S-C left and right of exergue; ALIM ITAL in exergue. RIC II: 459 Scarce. Size: 32mm, 26.62g. Numismatic Notes: A scarce type in great shape! The legends ALIM ITAL on the reverse of this coin allude to the emperor's public works in feeding hungry children in Italy, hence the depiction of Abundance feeding a child. An interesting history for a very nice coin!
