1939 (23 SE). Airmail cover from New York, United States to Mount Carmel. The cover was underfranked with 8 c. stamps and struck with "To Pay" postmarks in New York. Upon arrival in British Mandate Palestine, the cover was censored and hand-stamped with the local "To Pay 14mil" postmark, necessitating the affixing of additional postage due stamps and tied by the Mount Carmel 12 OCTOBER arrival circular date stamp (cds).
1930 official cover from the Jerusalem Municipality, mailed within Jerusalem. Insufficiently franked with 2mil Mandate Pictorials, it was taxed '6 mil to pay' and affixed with additional postage due stamps (2 & 4mil.), tied with Jerusalem circular date stamps.
1945: A commercial cover from the Royal Exchange Assurance in Jerusalem, bearing proper franking with a vertical strip of five 3 mil stamps (Perf. 13 1/2 x 15), featuring a variety of 1/2 Gutter. Sent to the manager of the Cairo branch in Egypt, the cover underwent censorship twice, once in Palestine and once in Egypt.
