1877. The adove obliterator used on 5th May 1877 on a printed envelope to the United States, and known in blue and black, has a recorded use from 28th January 1865 until 11th January 1879. The envelope is stamped at the rate of 20 soldi and the "P.D." handstamp is thus applied to show it to be correctly pre-paid for delivery to its destination under the U.P.U. convention. BALE 105
