IMPERIAL AIRWAYS "COURTIER" CRASH MAIL FROM PALESTINE TO GERMANY IN 1937.
Airmail from Palestine with a 15 milliemes issue "dome of the rock" paying the rate to Germany. Jerusalem postmark wiith maltese cross dated September 30th 1937. The Short S.23 "Courtier" piloted by Captain Pool crashed at Pahleron Bay, near Athens damaging the hull and sinking within minutes. The mail was recovered, but all three onboard passengers were drowned.
