First Israel Airmail Stamp photograph Sheet: A reduced-size photograph showcases the complete printer sheet of the 250pr value, divided into six panes of 50 stamps each. Positioned on the right side of the photo, three designs are featured. One highlights the Dead Sea Ancient Scrolls. The middle design displays the stamp image, depicting Noah's dove with a branch of olive in its peak, sourced from the mosaic floor of the synagogue at Jerash. This stamp holds significance as the first Israel airmail issue, conveying a message of peace and goodwill through the airmail service. 1949 Essays Israel 2nd Coins Blocks of 4: a cover affixed on an album page, revealing a compelling philatelic narrative. On the cover, two imperforated blocks of 4 stamps are prominently displayed side by side, each mounted on bluish-grey thick paper. The 10pr 2nd Coins in red/purple and the 20pr nd coins in bright blue. This arrangement, originating from the collection of David Ramez, who served as the Minister of Transportation and Post at the time, suggests a deliberate presentation to showcase the considerations for the . Notably, the 10pr red/purple was eventually chosen. Additionally, on the same album page, beneath the cover, a partial sheet of the Tabul label is affixed, further enriching the philatelic narrative.
1950's Israeli Air and Land Transportation Trial Stamp Designs: This page features two designs: a 10pr transportation stamp and a 20pr airmail stamp. Each design is represented in three different colors: grey, brown, and blue. All six stamps are securely affixed to thin cardboard and are in very fine condition. Originating from the estate of the designer Uta Velish, the bottom of the card bears a hand stamp indicating 'From the collection of David Remez,' along with his signature.
1948, Petah Tikva: Stamp design commemorating the 70th anniversary of the city's founding. This unique design, printed on thick glossy paper, features a modern work of art blending old photos of the city's first well and the Rothschild monument "Baron's Gate." The dedication to the city and the word 'Israel' at the top of the stamp are in Hebrew, reflecting the predominant language in Israel. Israel's First Airmail Stamp Proof and Color Essays"
This lot comprises four designs of the 250mil Israel's first airmail stamp, showcasing different stages of the production process. At the top is a black proof with a surcharge of 25 instead of the final 250. Below it are three examples of color essays of the final design: one in green, one in grey, and one displaying the combined final result of bluish-green. All three essays feature the correct surcharge of 250mil.
Notably, none of the examples includes the 'Doar Israel' inscription that appears in the final stamp at the bottom right corner. Instead, each example shows a printer mark indicating its future location. The examples are printed on thick paper, each measuring 36mm x 23mm, and are affixed on thick printer paper.
