Beautiful cover from Emil Stern in the Jewish ghetto in Shanghai China to Franz Nasch in Tel Aviv Palestine. mixed franking on back with Chinese markings.  Postmarked September 6, 1947. Before and during world war 2 many Jews fleeing Nazi persecution took refuge in Shanghai China forming a ghetto. After the war, with the Nazi's defeated, and civil war in China heating up, many sought to go to Palestine or the USA.   posted to Tel Aviv Palestine.
