1936, 2 - CIGARETTE CARD SETS - 1936 OLYMPIC GAMES BOOKS This is an original set of two (2) picture books produced by the Cigaretten Bilderdienst (Cigarette Picture Service) in Hamburg in 1936 to celebrate the recently held Berlin Olympic games. Both books are in excellent to pristine condition with only minor wear appearing at the corners of their blue cloth colored covers. The gold embossed Olympic Bell emblem and black colored "OLYMPIA 1936" title on both books are undamaged. Both books contain the full compliment of all of the original numbered photographs, with none appearing to be creased or damaged in any way. As in all cigarette albums produced in this series, each of the pictures has been numbered and identified on the reverse before being individually mounted in the album in its appropriate location. These books provide the reader with a dramatic look into pre WWII Germany and would equally be a worthy addition to either a collection of German items or an Olympic history collection respectively.(Volume 2 of several first leaves has several damaged leaves).
